Firstly i have to apologise for my lack of communication over the last few months, i have been very busy running half marathons, helping out in school, bulking up my stock and camping!
And yes it does seem a little early to be thinking about Christmas but Changing rooms have asked me to get some stock together for them so here it is! I did find it very difficult to get into the swing of things when it feels like Christmas was only a couple of months ago but i have managed to drag myself into the christmas spirit! I am quite looking forward to the cold dark nights now, curling up by the fire, choosing christmas trees, wrapping presents ( One of my favourite parts of Christmas!) and of course eating a lot of comforting wintery food!
So here are a few images of my Christmas creations so far…

And Buttons! Lots of pretty buttons!
Well i have been very busy since i last blogged hence the reason i haven’t blogged in a very long time! I have been working very hard on my embroidered pieces, emailing galleries and presenting my work to possible suppliers. I love how my pieces are starting to shape up they are really beginning to look like a collection. I have managed to get a lot of different projects on the go at the moment, making my very first quilt! Covering buttons, making napkins and tea-towels and obviously keeping my embroidered art pieces up to scratch! Just thought i’d check in and show you how my collection is take shape. Hopefully i will have my very own online shop up and running in the near future!
Well as you can probably tell i have no idea what to do at the moment. I seem to always get to a point in my work where i need to take time out step back and figure out what to do next so i thought by coming on here and writing down some thoughts it might help spur my creative ideas on! So this is what i have done recently…I have been working on my print designs as i have my print induction next week, they are looking really good and if anything i may have too many patterns and ideas. My problem is knowing where to take these vast amount of patterns and ideas. I need a plan! When it gets to producing a ‘product’ or a ‘final piece’ as such i freeze and shut down. I think in fear of not creating something totally perfect and wonderful i manage to create …nothing. But this im determined is not going to happen i am spending my wonderful day off tomorrow starting some serious design development. I will determine:
1.) What the product is?
2.) A vague idea of design and colour.
3.) A marketing plan.
4.) A printing and time plan.
A lot of tea and cake may be necessary!
So here are a few images of what i have been doing in the mean time the patterns i have come up with and please feel free to comment or pass on any inspirational thoughts you may have!

Family Tree Text: How can i incorporate this into my work i wonder...
Last weekend we had a lovely run up to Edinburgh! To get out for a whole day was brilliant. We went to the England Vs Scotland rugby match at Murrayfield! Well i can’t say i’m much of a rugby fan but it was so much fun! With amazing seats (Only three rows back from the front) i almost even understood what was going on! Although Ciaran did have to talk me through most of the match! However i took some photos of our journey up there as it was such a lovely morning. These i thought i would share with you. I have come to realise that we all need a day off!

Well as i’m working full time i’m desperately trying to cram in as much creative time as a possibly can! I thought i’d give you a little insight as to what i have been up to over the last few weeks. Oh what it must be like to have a full time creative job! There is only so much creativity you can force into a bathroom sales! On a more exciting note i have a print induction booked in a couple of weeks and a week off which i’m going to spend on my work. I have already started to get together some printing ideas and its so much fun getting back into it again! A full time job has really made me realise how much i miss being creative!
So here are a few ideas i have been collecting in my sketchbooks:
