My name is Rachel Eva and a textile artist from North East England.
I am currently just coming to the end of a 3 year degree course in Cumbria.
My work is based in print and embroidery.
I love to work with subjects close to my heart and am obsessed with old and sentimental objects.
My latest project (Final Exhibition Ba Hons) was title ‘A Family Collection’ and revolved around my late grandmas recipe book.
I have produced a range of home ware including napkins, tea towels, cushions and aprons.
I love working with light colour such as whites and light greys!
I have an obsession of taking old\forgotten objects and giving them a new lease of life through creating bespoke textile items.
I am happiest when my work is going well.
I love taking photographs!
Design Boards are my best friends!
I love making holes, hand-stitching, drawing, painting, ruffling, gathering, pleating, smocking,
pinking shears, printing, eyelet punching, machine stitching, layering and so much more!
My family are my inspiration.
I love cats!
I’m looking forward to venturing into the ‘real world!’.
Artist research is really important for my and i’m inspired by artists such as Anna Lewis, Ruth Singer and Hannah Lamb.
I love flicking through magazines and craft books for my inspiration!
I love to bake and cook.
Sunny days make me happy.
A walk round the park to feed the ducks makes everything so much better!
As does a good cup of tea with a nice slice of cake!
So thats a little about me please feel free to look around and let me know what you think of my work!
